About
The Knights of Columbus, Council #7333 of St. John the Baptist Church, includes over 110 members from the Allentown, Upper Freehold, and Hamilton area of Central New Jersey.
Prior to 2003, the council was dormant for twenty years. Father Patrick Castles, who had been the pastor at St. Anthony of Padua Church and the Chaplain of Council 6284 in Hightstown, NJ, was transferred to St. John’s in 2000. Father Castles contacted District Deputy Daniel Foley and together with former Ewing Grand Knight Joseph Gendron, worked tirelessly to resurrect Council #7333.
As of January 1, 2003, the Council began again as a vibrant Council with Father Castles as Chaplain and a full slate of officers, trustees, directors and a roster of 38 members. Father Castles has shown unselfish support of the Council allowing the use of the church hall and rectory basement with all amenities.
In the years since, Knights of this Council have been honored by the New Jersey State Council for their service:
- “2003 Chaplain of the Year” – Father Patrick Castles
- “2008 Knight of the Year” – Joe Gendron
- “2009 Police Officer of the Year” – Robert M. Diszler
