Please join the Knights of Columbus on Monday March 26 at 7:30PM in the Parish Hall for a screening of the movie “COURAGEOUS” (PG-13, 2011, Provident Films). This film promotes Christian values and re-affirms a Father’s integral role in his family.

Watch the trailer here:

This event is free for the community, so invite your friends, spouses and teenage children (note the PG-13 rating) – all are welcome!

About “Courageous”:

Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson, and Shane Fuller are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood. While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they’re quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark. When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God … and to their children? Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That’s courageous.

Tired of Hollywood movies with no redeeming Christian values?

Come out for COURAGEOUS! You won’t be disappointed!

A big thank you to all of the men who helped with the setup of the Lenten Cross: Chris Kniesler, Bob DeLuca, Joe Gendron, Billy Giaimo, Dan Morgan, Jerry Iacona, and Ted Suarez.

The Cross is placed in front of St. John’s Church during Lent and hopefully will be there for many years to come. This year we are honoring Brother Richard “Rich” Kilby, who had the original idea for the project. Rich was in the construction business and he provided the old wood that we use for the Cross and he brought a crew of men the first couple of years to erect the Cross. A small sign has been ordered and will be placed on the Cross in remembrance of Brother Rich, who passed away earlier this year.

As you drive by, please also notice the crown of thorns. As Catholic gentlemen, we are honored to provide these symbols of our faith for all to look upon. May your Lenten journey be holy and heartfelt.
